Our Objectives

Broadly outlined, our objectives are:

  • The relief from sickness and the preservation and protection of good health among people residing permanently or temporarily in India.
  • The advancement of education in India by the provision of information, training and advice in HIV and safe sex
  • Disaster Relief in India & UK

Our Work

A Vision For Life-  Life is beautiful, life is Precious. Yet, for some, life can become a curse. Poverty, disease,hunger- endless suffering with no respite. A life free from suffering with help available for everyone when they are ill regardless of their finances is what we would perceive as our Vision.

Vinayek Charitable Trust's free dispensary in Village Kanhai in North India focuses on this. What started off as a small free clinic with one doctor is now a busy centre caring for people from 40 villages in the vicinity, serving at least 500 people per week. Villagers get free check-ups and medicines  for problems related to eyesight, gynaecology, paediatrics,ENT, dental care, pathology, family planning and HIV protection.

Vocational training for handicraft making and sewing is given in The Silai School also run by the Vinayek Trust

In countries like India, without EDUCATION, there is no way forward. The Happy School in Gurgaon focuses on this. We have successfully supported hundreds of children, children of street workers, street children, children who are even domestic workers themselves. Many of our children attend school in the day, and go off to work as maids or house-helps to support their families.

But the hope is alive that one day the education they receive will help them build a better future for themselves,  that they will not spend their lives being exploited as labourers like their past generations and that girls as young as 13 will be confident enough to protest against being married off  by their parents to men three times their age!

AIDS - Silence is Death. It's a catch 22 scenario: To be HIV+ - to talk about it -be ostracised by society. To stay quiet - die a silent death of suffering without proper medication and relief.  Staying quiet also means spreading the disease, which is exactly what has been happening in the last few decades. India has found itself in an AIDS epidemic and action taken by the government is slow in coming.

Vision India has accepted that AIDS awareness is the need of the hour if the spread of AIDS has to be curbed. Mumbai Rockks and The Care Foundation - our affiliates in Mumbai work with slum dwellers, holding AIDS awareness camps and distributing free condoms.

When we do the best we can, we never know what miracle is wrought in our life or the life of another - Helen Keller
